I'm a native English creative copywriter, originally from London, but I with several years spent working in Berlin, where I got my first job.
How did I end up in the birthplace of techno and the Doner kebab? Well, as a language grad I won a nationwide essay competition and the prize was a all paid for university semester at the Technical University in Berlin.
It was then that I worked out then that writing could take you places and I ain't looked back since (and it almost took me as far as Sydney, actually, but then graffiti got in the way.)
Since Berlin, I've worked in advertising agencies in London, Munich, Paris and Frankfurt, working independently and as part of a creative team, on briefs from brassieres to brasseries, and everything in between.
As well as advertising, I have excellent knowledge of the German language and culture, so I'm also regularly asked to adapt German ads for the UK market.
Outside writing, I lead a secret double life. I have to confess – I like to run around wielding an axe in public.
Yes, you heard that right. I play lead guitar in a band. And I also write, arrange and produce our music. You can give our tracks a listen below.
